Miss Chief can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but with a bit of time and patience, she warms up beautifully and enjoys being close. While she never passes up a chance for a treat, she isn’t possessive about her food. Miss Chief has a gentle, balanced temperament and plays happily with all her fellow residents at A.I.R.S. She has a special fondness for her rope toys and loves nothing more than snuggling up for a cozy night together.

She is house-trained, comfortable in the car, though still working on her lead training.

This dog has leishmaniasis, a condition that is manageable with medication. It's important to note that leishmaniasis is generally not contagious to other dogs in areas where sand flies—the insects that spread the disease—are not present. This means that outside the Mediterranean region (for example, in Germany or the UK), leishmaniasis poses minimal threat to other dogs. However, non-vector transmission can occur through bite wounds or blood transfusions. Standard interactions between dogs, like sniffing or licking, do not pose a notable threat for disease spread. Additionally, a vaccine is available to help protect dogs against leishmaniasis.

Miss Chief ist anfangs etwas schüchtern, aber mit ein wenig Zeit und Geduld taut sie auf und genießt es, in deiner Nähe zu sein. Obwohl sie sich keine Gelegenheit für einen Leckerbissen entgehen lässt, zeigt sie dabei kein futterneidisches Verhalten. Miss Chief hat ein liebevolles, ausgeglichenes Wesen und spielt fröhlich mit allen anderen Bewohnern bei A.I.R.S. Besonders liebt sie ihre Spielzeuge aus Seil und kuschelt sich abends am liebsten ganz nah an.

Sie ist stubenrein und fährt problemlos im Auto mit, muss jedoch noch etwas an ihrer Leinenführigkeit arbeiten.

Dieser Hund hat Leishmaniose, eine Erkrankung, die mit Medikamenten behandelbar ist. Es ist wichtig zu beachten, dass Leishmaniose in Gebieten, in denen Sandmücken—die Insekten, die die Krankheit übertragen—nicht vorkommen, im Allgemeinen nicht auf andere Hunde übertragbar ist. Das bedeutet, dass außerhalb des Mittelmeerraums (zum Beispiel in Deutschland oder Großbritannien) Leishmaniose für andere Hunde ein geringes Risiko darstellt. Allerdings kann eine nicht vektorbedingte Übertragung durch Bisswunden oder Bluttransfusionen erfolgen. Normale Interaktionen zwischen Hunden, wie Schnüffeln oder Lecken, stellen jedoch kein nennenswertes Risiko für die Verbreitung der Krankheit dar. Zudem ist eine Impfung verfügbar, die Hunde gegen Leishmaniose schützen kann.
